Saket Ram (Kamal Hasan) and his wife Aparna (Rani Mukherji) live happily in Calcutta. Their bliss is disrupted by Muslims who come to Saket`s house to kill his wife because he came to the aid of a woman being chased by rioters earlier that day. After his wife dies Saket makes it his mission to get revenge and joins a group of Hindu rebels. He remarries and seems to have his life back but will it be the end of his struggle?
