Yet another romantic novella from the Kapoor clan Prem Granth is the story of a woman’s true grit to fight society and its evils and a man’s resolve to stand by her and support her completely. Soman (Rishi Kapoor) is a student of law who falls in love with Kajiri (Madhuri Dixit) at first sight. However they part ways only to meet again. Kajiri’s traumatic life story gives Soman the courage to confide in his father a very respectable priest. The two love birds are ultimately united after a long tryst with societal norms and expectations. What holds the movie together is the long haul in the lovers’ lives and how they get through it all.
