Dhanpat Indrajeet Garodia (Kiran Kumar) a.k.a. D.I.G. in a daring daylight robbery robs a bank of 40 lakhs rupees leaving behind a trail of corpses but not a single clue. Waiting for the heat to die down he hides the money in an old unused well on the outskirts of the city. The money is found by Raja (Karan Shah) an orphan brought up by Anthony (Ashok Saraf) a pickpocket who does his best to educate Raja and find a job for him. Anthony persuades Raja to keep the money. Hot on the trail of the bank robber Inspector Chanakya (Naseeruddin Shah) a daredevil police officer raids all the hideouts of D.I.G. to get some clue about the robbery.
