Life is a play of light and shadow suffering mingles with happiness and tears flow along with laughter. Paro (Hema Malini) the village belle was the cynosure of the village villains� eyes. She was much sought after by one and many. When she fell in love with Paras (Sanjeev Kumar) a doctor who had come to save the village from the dreaded plague the villagers could not tolerate it. He was assaulted and thrown into the river to die. Paro herself was blinded. But as luck would have it Paras survived and was admitted to a city hospital and looked after by Dr. Singh and his Daughter Dr. Manju (Yogeeta Bali). But he was only worried about Lajo who had been kidnapped by unknown people�Then one day a well wisher enters her life promising to restore her eyesight. He is none other than Dr. Paras who is now engaged to Dr. Manju (Yogeeta Bali)�what happens next forms the crux of Dhoop Chhaon.
