Manufactured in premium pure cotton denim with contemporary five pocket styling partial fading and tear branded copper button and rivets coin pocket and classic Levi''s 501 branding this pair will hug you well around the hip and drop down slim fit to the leg.Series 501 – a part of history!Levi''s company was founded in 1853 when Mr. Levi Straus came from to California and launched a wholesale business and Jacob Davis a Jewish emigrant from Latvia became one of his customers. After one of Davis customers kept purchasing cloth to reinforce his torn pants Davis had an idea to use copper rivets to reinforce the points of strain such as on the pocket corners and at the base of the button fly. Since he did not have money to purchase a patent he proposed to Levi that they go into business together. On May 201873 the two men received U.S. Patent 139121 from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patented rivet was incorporated in the jeans design and the first pair of Levis 501 was created in 1890s.
